Adhitam AI ("the app") is a personal UPSC Civil Services exam-preparation study companion. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, where it's stored, and what choices you have. We've kept the app local-first by design — most of what it tracks about your study habits never leaves your device unless you explicitly turn on a feature that needs a server.

1. Data stored only on your device

The following is stored in your device's local storage and is never transmitted anywhere unless you use one of the optional online features described in Section 2:

DataPurpose
Study profile (name, target exam year, preparation level, preferences)Personalizing your study plan and dashboard
Activity log (sessions, screen views, content you opened, time spent)Streaks, mastery scoring, and recommendations
Quiz results and attempt historyAccuracy tracking, weak-topic detection, revision scheduling
Notes, answer-writing submissions, essay draftsSo you can review your own past work
Chat history with the in-app mentorSo the mentor conversation persists between visits
Mood/wellbeing check-ins, timetable, milestones, test-series progressStudy planning and burnout signals
Interview (DAF) preparation entries you type inInterview-prep practice only

This data lives in your device's app storage. Uninstalling the app deletes it. We (the developer) have no access to it unless you use the optional backup/export feature and choose to share that file yourself.

2. Data sent to our servers (only for optional online features)

These features require an internet connection and, in most cases, signing in. If you never sign in or never use these features, none of this applies to you.

3. What we don't do

4. Data retention and deletion

Locally stored data stays on your device until you clear the app's storage or uninstall it. If you've signed in, your account record (email/UID) and any battle results tied to it live in our Firestore database until you request deletion. To delete your account and associated server-side data, contact us using the details below — we'll remove it within a reasonable time.

5. Children's privacy

Adhitam AI is intended for UPSC exam aspirants, typically adults preparing for a competitive civil services exam. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

6. Third-party services we rely on

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how they process data on our behalf.

7. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
